Taylor Swift bonded with sick kids at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City over the Chiefs, and of course, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
“I like Travis now,” a child told Swift, 35, during the Thursday, December 12, stop at the hospital, according to a fan video shared via X.
Swift didn’t skip a beat as she signed a copy of her Eras Tour book for the patient, replying, “Yes, me too. That’s an absolute yes on that one.”
The Grammy winner asked if the Chiefs tight end was the child’s “favorite player,” to which the young girl replied, “Yeah. Either [him] or Patrick,” referring to the team’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
“Good. These are good answers,” Swift said with a smile. “You are acing this!”
Swift is back in the U.S. following the conclusion of her Eras Tour on Sunday, December 8. While she has become a staple at Kelce’s NFL games since they started dating in summer 2023, this time around Swift made an extra stop in Kansas City and away from the football field.
According to social media posts from Children’s Mercy Hospital workers and patients’ families, Swift visited the location on Thursday to talk with pediatric patients and brighten their spirits.
“This morning, day #6 of Baylee in the hospital we had the coolest, most unexpected surprise ever.. (with like 2 minutes warning),” Melissa Nuzum, a mom of one of the children, wrote via Facebook. “TAYLOR SWIFT came to visit impatient children today and Baylee was chosen since she requests Taylor songs during her uncomfortable procedures!”
The woman shared photos of Swift making silly faces with her daughter and spending time in her room. “Ya’ll she is amazing! On top of her sheer beauty, she was just as kind and personable and down to earth,” she gushed. “She gave Baylee a signed copy of her Eras Tour book and accepted a gift from Baylee (a diamond art picture) as well. We have fangirled all morning!”
Swift received several gifts from the children, according to social media, many of which were Chiefs’ related. One little boy showed Swift a blanket that had different Chiefs symbols, including one square that read, “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend,” in honor of Kelce.
The “So High School” singer took time to sing and dance with the kids while going from room to room and took pictures with them and their families.
“I’ll probably be back to bother you,” Swift told the nurses on staff via a video shared on X, which caused everyone to laugh. The staff then started yelling, “Happy birthday!” as she left the premises ahead of her 35th birthday on Friday, December 13.
Swift has been spreading cheer for years after embarking on her record-breaking Eras Tour in March 2023. (She sold out 149 concerts across five continents, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.)
Before she wrapped up the Eras Tour, Swift also brought joy to her crew, gifting them $197 million in bonuses throughout their nearly two-year run.
Us Weekly confirmed that recipients of the bonuses included the truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, makeup, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team.
Swift also made sure to thank her fans during her final bow on Sunday before sharing a series of photos from the epic journey on social media. “It was rare. I was there. I remember it. ♥️,” she captioned the Wednesday, December 11, post, quoting her lyrics from “All Too Well.”
Kelce, meanwhile, missed Swift’s final performance due to his NFL schedule. He gushed over his girlfriend’s success on Wednesday during an episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“Shout-out to everybody that was a part of that show. Obviously, it’s her music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man,” he said at the time. “That thing was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but mostly because of Taylor.”
