Megan Kimpton returns to Barry Plant

Barry Plant’s Growth Team has been refreshed and reinvigorated, now welcoming back a familiar face as Megan Kimpton returns to the fold.

After spending the past two years at another real estate franchise, Barry Plant is thrilled to welcome Megan back to the Growth Team, where she steps into the role of Franchise Development Manager in Property Management.

She returns to the network with even greater experience and an enduring passion for helping people and businesses reach their full potential.

“What can I say? I’m back!” Ms Kimpton said.

“I loved my time at Barry Plant, but I left for an amazing opportunity where I gained more experience, continued to learn and grow, and now I’m returning to the group in a new role as Franchise Development Manager in Property Management.”

“I’ve got more to give the Barry Plant network, and I’m thrilled to be back.”

Barry Plant’s Head of Growth, Mark Lynch, was clear in his vision for Megan’s role and the value she brings to the team.

“When we restructured our Growth Team at the end of 2024, we knew we needed a specialist in the Property Management space,” Mr Lynch said.

“Megan has stepped into that role seamlessly, playing a key part in positioning Barry Plant for a landmark year of growth and recruitment in 2025.

“Our focus is on expanding our network and team in a deliberate, sustainable way—through thoughtful, strategic decisions—and Megan will be a tremendous asset in driving that vision forward.”

Her real estate journey has led her to the integral role of Franchise Development Manager in Property Management, the culmination of a career that began at just 18.

Stepping straight out of Year 12 into an Assistant Property Manager role at a real estate office in Mitcham—an office that would later become part of Barry Plant—she spent the next eight years honing her expertise, gaining a deep understanding of the industry, and building strong relationships along the way.

In 2018, Megan decided to challenge herself, diving into a new aspect of the real estate industry. Fuelled by her love of connecting with people and continuous learning, she joined the REIV, where she taught the Real Estate Course—a role she loved—which opened the door for her to join Barry Plant as a Training Manager.

Over the following two years, she made a significant contribution to Barry Plant’s renowned training programs before moving on to become Head of Learning and Development at another major real estate franchise.

Her ability to design and implement innovative training programs became a defining feature of her career.

In 2023, determined to further expand her skill set, she stepped into a General Manager role at a real estate franchisee, gaining valuable hands-on experience at the office level.

Her decision to return to Barry Plant was driven by her desire to make an impact on a larger scale.

Passionate about business and individual growth strategies, she thrives on helping professionals at every stage of their careers set and achieve meaningful goals.

“I missed having the ability to drive meaningful, large-scale change at a corporate level,” she said.

“Lisa Pennell noticed when I took an extended break over Christmas and reached out with an opportunity to return.

“It felt like the right time to come back.”

Barry Plant CEO Lisa Pennell was quick to act when she saw the opportunity to bring Megan back into the fold.

“When we noticed that Megan was taking an extended break from her General Manager role, I immediately picked up the phone,” Ms Pennell said.

“I had worked with Megan for only a short time after joining Barry Plant but was instantly impressed by her drive and enthusiasm.

“She’s exactly the kind of talent I want on my team.

“It was a serendipitous call, as Megan had been following our work and was keen to return—and the great news is she’s hit the ground running with the Growth Team and is already making waves in the network.”

The Barry Plant that Megan returns to is very different from the one she left.

Under Lisa Pennell’s leadership and with a revitalised head office team, the company has sharpened its vision and strategy, creating an exciting environment for growth and innovation.

“It feels like stepping into a brand-new workplace rather than returning to an old one,” Ms Kimpton said.

“The team I’ve walked into now is fresh, dynamic, and filled with experts in their respective fields, making it an exciting place to be.”

Ms Kimpton’s enthusiasm for the Growth Team is clear.

She thrives on working closely with offices, fostering collaboration, and identifying opportunities to enhance both business performance and individual careers.

Her focus is on expanding Barry Plant’s success in both property management and sales, with a strong push to empower property managers and business development managers to drive growth.

Having rejoined just in time to attend Kickstart and host a property management conference, Megan is already diving into the work that excites her most.

“Our goal for 2025 is to see substantial growth in property management and sales—both internally and externally,” Ms Kimpton said.

“We want to help our people gain the confidence and skills to take their careers to the next level.”

Her return to Barry Plant marks an exciting new chapter for both her and the Growth Team.

As Barry Plant continues its strategic expansion, her expertise will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and fostering success across the business.

With a fresh perspective, a revitalised team, and ambitious goals for 2025, Barry Plant is well-positioned for a landmark year—and Ms Kimpton is ready to help lead the charge.
