Harcourts Foundation provides $10,000 grant to Childhood Cancer Association

The Announcement:

The Harcourts Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Childhood Cancer Association in South Australia, enabling a dollar-matching campaign during their Christmas Appeal.

The campaign, running from December 2-8, 2024, will see all donations doubled up to the value of $10,000, amplifying the impact of community support for families affected by childhood cancer.

The Childhood Cancer Association, established in 1982 by parents of children with cancer, has grown to become one of Australia’s leading childhood cancer support organizations, serving families across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

“The Association receives no on-going public funding, and relies on the generous support of their supporters to do the essential work they do,” said Pauline Smith, Head of the Harcourts Foundation.

Heather Edwards, CEO Harcourts SA, emphasised the critical nature of the Association’s work.

“When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family needs critical support services to help them cope,” Ms Edwards said.

“Donations to the Childhood Cancer Association ensure that these children, and their families, receive the vital services they need to help them through the most difficult time in their lives.”

The dollar-matching initiative represents a significant boost to the Association’s fundraising efforts, ensuring continued practical, hands-on support to children with cancer and their families.
