If you’ve been to the grocery store lately, you know food prices are on the rise. More often than not, a quick trip to the store to get a couple of items ends up costing me far more than expected. Consumers have been feeling the effects of inflation, seeing steeper prices on staples like eggs, and trying to budget more and shop smarter. For this very reason, many people choose to do the majority of their shopping at places with lower costs where they know they can stretch their dollar further, such as Aldi. The grocery chain, already known for its low prices, has heard customers’ gripes and is here to ease the burden even more in very exciting news.

Aldi recently announced that the store is lowering prices on more than 250 summer essentials which will result in an estimated $100 million in savings for Americans through Labor Day. This includes many fan favorites as well as easy-to-travel snacks like granola bars, barbecue essentials like sirloin steak, and picnic necessities like French baguettes.

In a statement, Dave Rinaldo, President of Aldi U.S. said, “Aldi is always looking for ways to help customers save money, but with more experts warning of persistent inflation, the time was right to deliver even greater discounts on our already low prices for the second year in a row.”

Aldi knows about saving. The company is rooted in practices that cut unnecessary costs such as their quarter-cart system, letting customers bag their own groceries, and displaying products in the boxes they come in. There’s no frills — just high-quality products at affordable prices which is what customers have grown to love and rely on. The decision also builds upon an additional price drop they made last May, putting even more dollars back in customers’ pockets.

“We don’t want food prices to hold people back from getting together with friends and family or spending time outdoors this season,” Rinaldo said. So no need to worry if you were planning those summer barbecues, picnics, pool parties, or road trips. Aldi has you covered with plenty of inexpensive finds to stock up on all summer long.
