Syrian and Russian airstrikes on rebel-held positions continued on Monday, mostly in Hama and Idlib provinces in the northwest, according to the Syrian military and the White Helmets -a Syrian Civil Defence group that operates in opposition held areas – following a shock offensive by insurgents who breached the country’s largest city for the first time since 2016.
