Jeremy Allen White got a visit from The Boss while filming the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.

Bruce Springsteen was photographed chatting with White, 33, on the movie’s set in Bayonne, New Jersey, on Monday, November 4. White channeled the 75-year-old music legend while wearing a leather jacket and dark pants. Springsteen, meanwhile, donned a flannel peacoat with jeans, a scarf and sunglasses. The pair shared a hug before Springsteen caught up with other members of the film’s crew.

Directed and written by Scott Cooper, Deliver Me From Nowhere is expected to hit theaters next year. The movie is an adaptation of Warren Zanes‘ book of the same name and focuses on the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album, Nebraska, which “marked a pivotal time” in Springsteen’s life, according to a press release.

“It’s regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians,” the release continues. “Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom and without The E Street Band, Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen’s most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”

“Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me,” he continued in part, per Variety. “Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience.”

Cooper also noted that it was “a great pleasure” to work closely with Springsteen and his longtime manager, Jon Landau, on the film. Landau, 77, recently praised White’s casting as the 20-time Grammy winner.

“Oh, my God, he’s just perfect,” Landau told The Hollywood Reporter in October. “Scott said to me at the beginning, he said, ‘We get the right cast, and we’ll tell this story right,’ and he got the right cast.”

Along with White, Deliver Me From Nowhere stars Paul Walter Hauser as recording engineer Mike Batlan and Jeremy Strong as Landau.

Landau emphasized at the time that he and Springsteen aren’t directly involved in the production, but “we’re very pleased at the way they’re going about it, it’s going to be beautiful.”

Fans have already gotten their first look at how White transforms into Springsteen, but according to The Boss himself, the actor’s singing will be even more impressive.

“This is not easy to do because you can’t do an imitation, you have to do a personal interpretation,” Springsteen said during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show last month. “It’s difficult, but he is a great actor and sings pretty good.”
