Joan Vassos is down to her final three on The Golden Bachelorette — and after revisiting the promo, Us can’t wait for the Wednesday, October 30, episode.
Following Jordan Heller’s elimination, Joan, 61, heads to Tahiti with Pascal Ibgui, Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert for overnight dates. In the teaser, things appear to get tense as Pascal, 70, tells the cameras to go away as he walks through a hallway with Joan.
“We were trying to have a private moment to talk about something that was important,” Joan told Us Weekly during an interview for her cover story, which hit newsstands earlier this month. “We were having a hard time doing it without cameras around us. So Pascal was trying to get the cameras away.”
Pascal trying to get away from the cameras is interesting timing as Wednesday’s episode will mark the first time Joan will have time off camera with her suitors via her revamped fantasy suite dates — which will focus on “emotional intimacy” rather than physical.
“I’m not a person who can have a physical relationship with more than one person,” Joan told Us. “I wanted it to be agreed that we would talk and have the conversations we need to have off camera. We didn’t spend the night together. There was no bed in the room.”
Joan said that the men didn’t give her a hard time for her decision. “You gotta think, the person you’re potentially ending up with probably does not want to think of you, last week, having slept with the guy he hangs out with,” she said. “It’s just weird.”
She added, however, that she doesn’t judge the past Bachelors and Bachelorettes who have had sex on the show.
“Everybody needs to do it their way. I’m not judging,” Joan said. “The physical part is important at every age, but I think it’s more important when people are younger. Each of us needs to engineer the journey so it works best for us.”
Whether Joan and Pascal end up together is TBD, but it’s clear they are on good terms as the salon owner dressed up as the reality star for Halloween over the weekend.
“Pascal, will you accept this rose 🌹😉,” he captioned a photo via Instagram on Saturday, October 26, rocking a blonde wig and gold dress while holding a rose.
The Golden Bachelorette airs on ABC Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
